Installation requirements at a glance

While each product has its own specific requirements, most Design Turf systems follow a proven installation process to ensure performance, safety, and longevity.

  1. Base preparation: Excavate, shape, and install a compacted aggregate base with proper slope and drainage.
  2. Compaction: Mechanically compact the base to the specified density to prevent settling and depressions.
  3. Turf layout: Roll out turf, align grain direction, trim seams, and secure edges mechanically or with adhesive.
  4. Infill & grooming: Install recommended infill, brush fibers upright, and verify surface consistency and drainage.

Specifications FAQ

What’s the difference between Ontario Lush‑80 and Ontario Lush‑60?

Ontario Lush‑80 has a higher face weight and slightly taller pile height, creating a fuller, more luxurious look. Ontario Lush‑60 uses less yarn, making it a great choice where budget and performance need to be balanced.

What is face weight and why does it matter?

Face weight measures how much yarn is used per square yard of turf. Higher face weight generally means a denser, more durable surface with a more natural appearance.

Do all products use the same infill?

No. Pet, playground, landscape, and golf systems may use different infill types and quantities. Each spec sheet lists the recommended infill for that product.

Can I download or print the spec sheets?

Yes. Each product specification page can be printed or exported as a PDF from your browser. If you need stamped documents for a project, contact our team.
