From the initial visit and provision of an estimate of the cost for our installation, throughout the installation process, right up to job clean-up. The estimated cost was accurate and the time that expired between the initial site visit and installation date was much less than expected, which was very much appreciated considering that we’re entering the rainy season. Small backyard installation: We decided to swap out our grass for the turf as our dogs and shade are destroying the grass. Backyard lawn: We had a lawn area in back yard that always looked terrible due to large tree roots. We decided on Design Turf in August, but then our large Maple tree lost some large branches and had to be cut down. We had to delay the turf for 3 months while we waited for tree removal and replanting. They were very good and still managed to squeeze us in at the end of the season. Also, they came 3 times to look at the project as after the tree was gone, we weren’t sure how to change the project. Communication was excellent throughout. When they came to do the job, they sent 3 guys who worked very hard, were very organized and kept the site clean. It looks great. Everyone was friendly and nice to deal with. The grass looks very natural and is soft to walk on.

The idea of putting a golf green in the yard seemed like a good one. We contacted a number of firms but Design Turf were the most professional. They came to the initial appointment on time. Asked lots of questions, talked about alternatives. We decided to install the green as well as replace the worn-out artificial turf in the rest of the yard. The plan was really nice and well thought through. The pricing was reasonable. They use top notch materials and the green itself is installed by a person who knows how golf greens are supposed to work. They showed up on time and finished the job on budget, ahead of schedule. New lawn and small green: For years I have wanted to replace our lawn that was more weeds than grass. This spring I began contacting companies to discuss our job. Jerome came out as the third company I met with. The product they use was top notch and amazingly their price was very competitive. I actually read reviews here that were all positive and we went ahead with a deposit. In addition to the artificial turf we were going to complete a new larger deck, retaining wall and interlock. These projects were delayed multiple times and ended up being about a 2 months late. This is where I really have to compliment design turf – they were so accommodating in my need to keep pushing out the installation date. When we finally were ready they came and did a great job. We are thrilled with our lawn and small putting green we added at the last minute. Everything turned out beautifully and I would recommend them to anyone. Pre sale, post sale and installation teams were fantastic to deal with.

Artificial Turf with Installation: I have lived at my current house in West Toronto for 18 years. I have tried to maintain a proper lawn without any success. I have tried everything, such as seeding, over-seeding, laying sod (the raccoons had nightly parties with that), and nothing ever worked for more than a couple of weeks. It is also a very shady yard, which contributed to the problem, not to mention that I have a small dog that would go on the grass on occasion. For the last two years, my yard has gone unused and turned into a mud and weed pit. I had even given up on the gardens as the grass area was such a mess. (See the before picture). I looked into artificial turf as I had seen it on a couple of lawns in the neighbourhood and felt that it would be a good solution. I did not want to lay a full brick patio. I called and visited and researched several retailers. Design Turf was the only one that I found that actually came out to the site with a product that allowed me to discuss my specific needs and compare the different weights. They use the Pro Green© turf that is manufactured in US. Jerome was clear, experienced and introduced me to the weaved backing that allows for better flow as opposed to the plastic or rubber backing with small holes ever few inches that pretty much every other retailer offers. The backing also acts as a solid weed barrier as opposed to the small holes which I have read can invite weeds. They are the only grass company that I found that carried this backing. The flow factor was tested last night as Toronto experienced heavy rains which caused flooding in the city yet my new lawn showed no signs of water overflow on to my patio. Another big plus that Design Turf offered is that they have their own installation team. Most other outfits give you the name of a couple of landscaping companies and it is up to you to chase them down. I wasted a week doing this. Mine was a very small project (15 X 15) so getting a contractor to quote the job was a struggle. I did price out another company which had a much less expensive grass (not with the weaved backing) but with the installation quote it came out to be the same price. The installation team lead by Philip (5 in all) were quick professional and answered any questions I had about the process and maintenance of the product. My experience with Design Turf was excellent and the completed job looks terrific! Now I can get back to gardening and enjoying my back yard. BTW the product is also pet friendly. I would highly recommend going with this company especially for smaller city gardens.

Backyard Turf: We were very excited to change our backyard into a space that we could use a lot with our family and friends for a long time without too much fuss or maintenance. We wanted a space to be able to kick a ball, run and roll around without worrying about getting full of dirt, mud and grass stains. Basically we wanted a yard that was functional and beautiful all in one. Turf was the best option BUT we of course wanted to make sure we choose a company that are experts in this field. Our yard is quite large and a bit of an odd shape and went from high to low at several different points, so we needed more than just someone who could install grass well. We were quite concerned with making sure that the grading would be done well to allow for proper water runoff and drainage and making sure water would not accumulate close to the house. We had several companies come in to assess the yard and give us feedback on all the above as well as cost. One of our meetings was with Jerome from Design Turf who was professional, polite and extremely knowledgeable in all of the areas that were important to us. Jerome made us feel very comfortable and confident that Design Turf would be able to accomplish everything we were trying to do. With reviewing all the feedback and estimates from all companies we decided to go with Design Turf and we are SO VERY thankful that we did. Everyone on the team that worked on our project was extremely professional and worked very hard to make sure our yard was exactly what we wanted. There are a lot of details that go into making a yard of this size, shape and grade work well and the Design Turf team came through 110%. The entire team did a fantastic job and we are very thankful to them all. We now have a fantastic backyard that we love to spend a lot of time in. Design Turf made our backyard dreams come true. Installation of Artificial Turf and Stonework: They were excellent! Showed up on the day promised and continued working everyday all day until the job was finished. They were very helpful and easy going about slight changes that were required, and every person who showed up on site was polite respectful and clearly interested in doing the best job possible. They not only installed the artificial turf where we asked but also built a retaining wall and levelled and re-laid the driveway. After meeting with several companies we decided to go with Design Turf for our backyard landscape project. They were professional, reliable and well priced. They were not the cheapest quote nor the most expensive but they were thorough, they followed up and they cared about our business. The results were incredible. They arrived on time, installed a gorgeous product and were both efficient, professional, discreet, and clean. There were no “issues” or “problems” that arose during the install (as can be the case with suppliers). They were – quite simply – exceptional. I would recommend them to anyone who asked. Further, there was a minor “hiccup” with the job – we told them about it and they dealt with it right away. In my books, this is as good as it gets. I’m very pleased with the service we received from Design Turf. They installed our back yard lawn efficiently on the very day we had booked despite the awkward situation of our house (so awkward that some of the other artificial lawn companies didn’t even want to do the job). After we had had to pull a portion of the lawn up to do some waterproofing, they came back on short notice and re-installed the turf at no cost to us. To cap it all off, the actual charge for installing the lawn came out 30% lower than the already competitive price they had quoted us!

I had a mud pit for a front yard so in June 2014, I called Design Turf and spoke to Brandi to request a quote. Brandi was super friendly and knowledgeable about the product. She arranged a quote which happened in a matter of days. The price was right for me compared to other companies that I had contacted. I had set a tentative installation date for August with the possibility of being sooner if the work crew had the time. Brandi knew I wanted to be able to enjoy my outdoor space for the summer and arranged for the installation for July 2. The work was done while I wasn’t home so there was no inconvenience to me. It was great to come home to my synthetic lawn. It looked fantastic and my neighbours all complimented me on how great it looked. I have a dog and got the pet grade which is easy to clean and never seems to smell! It is an affordable, aesthetically pleasing, low maintenance, durable product. The staff was great! We had artificial turf installed, 420 sq.ft in total. They provided the best estimate for the work. The team was very efficient, friendly and did a great job installing the turf. The job entailed removing the grass, laying down the gravel, and then installing the turf (plus ensuring inground sprinkler system was not tampered with). We had one problem the inground sprinkler system and they returned within the hour to resolve it. Great customer service. We absolutely love our plush artificial grass and have not regretted installing it. We recommend Design Turf.

Your company was referred to me by a friend, and I was excited to do business with someone that came with a referral, there’s an expected level of trust that comes with a referred company. A putting green was installed in my backyard, and the artificial turn was laid in the wrong direction of the sand bunker. As the job finished, and we saw the direction of the turf, and asked the gents that did the install “do you play golf?” all of which said NO; immediately followed by “we mostly do installs of fake grass opposed to putting greens.” Making it obvious there was a lack of knowledge of this job type. A “re-work” was done to my delight however, it was like a quilt work patch job; with over a dozen cuts to the fringe turf of the putting green. A 3rd visit was made to correct it again – it is somewhat better but still a terrible patch work quilt looking job. The staff had a low level of knowledge of the installation, and were unprofessional on site.

We covered a large area of our yard (approx. 1,100sqf) and it looks, feels and functions unbelievably. Jerome’s crew did it in about 1.5 days – we renovated our entire house and this was one of the best companies we dealt with and best things we did to our house. Our yard was a complete mess before and it’s always perfect now. Gets a little hot in the sun, but that’s with any turf. We went with the Real 60 (mid level) and it looks completely real. 18′ wide so 1 seam down the length but completely unnoticeable. Went around trees perfectly. Book early as they get booked up in the spring (had to wait 2 months) and dog was filthy.

Design Turf was one of thee best decisions we made in hiring a team to turn our mud filled backyard into a luscious green place to share with our family and our dogs! What started with a 300ft² putting green morphed into a driveway extension and an awkward side yard all in artificial turf. Design Turf was prompt, competitively priced and did a great job. The putting surface is consistent and quite fast. I had plenty of input into the shape and contours on the putting green and am very pleased with the result. It’s great to spend a few idle minutes improving my putting game and the green looks good just sitting there. The turf grass used to extend the width of the driveway and to replace the sod in a shady, high traffic side yard looks fantastic. What was commonly a rough & muddy trip with the recycling bin is now easy, clean rolling. The turf beside the paved driveway is parked on daily, shows no sign of wear and looks much better than an asphalt or brick patch. Design Turf showed up on schedule and completed the work promptly, leaving the site clean and the putting green ready to play. Highly recommended.
